On Environmentalism and Conservationism - Part III

C. Canadensis nelsoni

So we continue onward, addressing what we can, and hoping for the best. Both mindsets have been ridiculed, judged, and deemed less than satisfactory in providing a sustainable solution. But both also share an enticing potential, if properly enacted. In a sense, both will provide the solutions to our problems. We can appreciate the poetry and vision of the mainstream environmental movement, and pair those qualities with the practicality and science of the conservationists to yield great result.

I have a feeling this will lead to a rather ugly conflict between myself and anyone a part of these camps who may disagree with me. More reverence I could not have for either, crazies cast aside. Sometimes, crazies included. But this is my interpretation upon the evidence I have either witnessed firsthand, or received an education by means of someone far more intelligent than I in the subject at hand. But always verifiable, either in reports, or by firsthand experience, therefore avoiding the potential of a fallen prophet. Even at that, if I am wrong, it proves only more study was needed.

Taken in derogatory light, this could be seen as an inaccurate argument because any time we use labels to distinguish anything from the other, we have, in fact, created the Other. As such, we can simply take their ideas, their science, and forge forward together, without the cutlass of a label hanging over our necks for the proceedings. They are no longer relevant. We now only use our energies towards progress and coming to a better, more complete understanding of the natural world.
